Responsibilities

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Senior Designer / Design Engineer with excellent communication skills, great attention to detail, who is looking for a varied fast paced role.

• The appointed E&I Designer / Design Engineer shall provide document updates using 2D & 3D CAD / Raster editing packages, from red-lined as-built documentation using established standards, processes and procedures.
• The appointed E&I Designer / Design Engineer shall produce project design documentation (loops, single line diagrams, layouts, datasheets, etc) using 2D & 3D CAD / Raster editing packages, working in conjunction with Engineers and other Desginers using established standards, processes and procedures.
• In addition, the selected E&I Designer / Design Engineer must demonstrate the ability to maintain a high level of organisation and attention to detail, enabling the Digital Engineering team to continue to deliver an efficient high-quality service.
• Create / update documentation as required in line with client engineering requirements or as-building expectations
• Provide technical guidance to other team members.
• Locate associated drawings and review the impact the modifications may have, providing red-lined drawings for Junior Draughtsmen to work from
• Utilisation of 2D & 3D software packages enabling the continued update and creation of 2D documentation, 3D designs, 3D models (utilising point cloud information), digital twins, intelligent documentation etc.
• Attend client meetings as required
• Monitor own workload to ensure timely delivery to clients
• Report to & support Technical Lead / local focal point / Project Managers as required
• Adhere to company policies & procedures

Qualifications

• B.E./B-Tech degree in electrical or control and instrumentation engineering discipline with demonstrated experience of 5 Years
• Proficiency in the following software platforms, but it’s not essential that all are covered:
• AutoDesk AutoCAD / Inventor
• Aveva E3D (Electrical / Instrumentation)
• Hexagon S3D (Electrical / Instrumentation)
• ePlan
• Bentley Microstation
• MS products; Teams, Word, Excel and Outlook
• Experience and a drive for continual learning / understanding of the latest design tools, technologies and processes
• Experience within a Design Engineering / Drawing Office environment
• Experience in producing design deliverables for E&I (loops, single line diagrams, etc) from information provided by Engineers or basis of design
• Experience in managing project documentation through a project lifecycle, through handover into operations
• A good level of general computer skills (good electronic housekeeping)
• Demonstrate an understanding of industry best practices
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Able to work with multiple stakeholders in a professional manner
