Senior Database Administrator

Clearance: Active DoD Secret (Top Secret eligible required)

Summary

LHH Technology is seeking a Senior Database Administrator to support a mission-critical Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS) for a long-standing defense partner. Responsibilities

• Sustain and enhance the Electronic Warfare Data System (EWDS) database
• Design and implement database schemas, stored procedures, views, and frameworks
• Develop and maintain SQL-based systems: PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL
• Perform database monitoring, backups, recovery processes, and performance tuning
• Create QA checks and automation to ensure performance, integrity, and availability
• Translate business and technical needs into data models (logical and physical)
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders
• Utilize languages and tools including C#, Java, and Microsoft Visual Studio
• Contribute in an Agile development environment with a focus on mission readiness

Qualifications

• Experience:
• 14+ years of database experience, or 12+ years with a Master’s Degree
• At least 4 years supporting infrastructure (compute, storage, desktop, or database)
• Strong background in PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL
• Skilled in data modeling, schema design, SQL optimization, and debugging
• Familiarity with analytics tools like Excel or Tableau
• Technical Skills:
• Database monitoring, automation, and backup/recovery techniques
• Performance tuning and high-availability design
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (C#, Java, or Python)
• Soft Skills:
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
• Collaborative mindset with strong multitasking ability
• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree + 14 years experience OR Master’s degree + 12 years
• Additional experience may substitute for a degree
• Security Requirements:
• Active DoD Secret clearance required
• Must be eligible for Top Secret clearance
• U.S. Citizenship required at the time of application

Work Modality & Compensation

• Work Arrangement: Onsite at Naval Base Point Mugu, CA
• Salary Range: $120,000 to $180,000
