Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead the design, management, and optimization of our data infrastructure. This role requires deep expertise in MySQL, MongoDB, clustering techniques, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, scalability, and performance of mission-critical databases that power our digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and maintain highly available database architectures using MySQL and MongoDB.
• Implement and manage clustering, replication, and load balancing strategies to maximize performance and fault tolerance.
• Administer and optimize database operations on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Develop and execute backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and failover processes.
• Optimize query performance, indexing, and schema design to support high-load environments.
• Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using advanced monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Percona Toolkit).
• Ensure data security, compliance, and integrity across all systems.
• Collaborate with development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support application scalability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues, lead root cause analysis, and drive long-term solutions.
• Stay current with the latest database technologies, trends, and best practices, and advise on potential improvements.
• Develop documentation, standards, and best practices for database management across environments.
  
  

Qualifications

• 5+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator in production environments.
• Strong expertise in MySQL and MongoDB administration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with database clustering, replication, and load balancing strategies.
• Practical knowledge of OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) database services and tools.
• Proficiency in database performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.
• Experience designing and implementing backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Strong understanding of data archiving, retention policies, and compliance standards.
• Solid experience with monitoring and alerting tools.
• Strong scripting skills (e.g., Bash, Python) for automation.
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in MySQL, MongoDB, or Oracle Cloud platforms.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Background in large-scale distributed system management.
