Position overview: The Senior Database Administrator will act as the primary database expert, contributing to the design, development, implementation, and support of critical business operations. The ideal candidate will have expert-level knowledge of T-SQL, performance tuning, query optimization, and SQL Server versions 2014-2022. Experience with Always On High Availability configurations, PowerShell scripting, and managing SQL Server environments (including Azure SQL, Azure VMs, Azure Data Lake, and other Azure services) is required. Familiarity with Windows Server 2012/2016/2022 Core is essential. Operating in PST time zone for the first 2-3 months minimum. Responsibilities: Maintain database environments with automated deployment and maintenance. Support SQL Server production environment, monitor server performance, and recommend improvements. Perform database administration tasks (installation, configuration, monitoring, backups, disaster recovery, and upgrades). Analyze, plan, deploy, and manage BI infrastructure. Provide in-depth technical expertise in BI/DW architectures. 10+ years of database administration, including 5+ years with SQL Server. Expertise in T-SQL, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL Server performance optimization. 3+ years of experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2022, including Core server. 3+ years in DevOps, VSTS/Git repository, and CI/CD. Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams. Experience with SQL Server 2014/2016/2022, BI/DW architectures, and data security. Nice to have: SQL Server DBA certification (2014/2016/2022). Experience with SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Redgate products, and data integration. Travel industry or e-commerce experience.
