Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement optimized and secure ETL data pipelines from multiple sources.
  • Architect and maintain cloud-based data infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Develop, fine-tune, and deploy Large Language Models (LLMs) for maritime and operational data applications.
  • Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational challenges by designing and deploying data solutions.
  • Work with GIS data, construct grids for spatial data analysis, and enhance visualization capabilities.
  • Build robust API-based data services to integrate various platform components.
  • Ensure high data quality by implementing monitoring systems, unit tests, and automated correction mechanisms.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices for data engineering, MLOps, and cloud security.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in data engineering, AI/ML, and maritime tech, introducing innovative tools and techniques where applicable.


Minimum Requirements:

  • 6-10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering, machine learning, and software development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, with additional experience in Scala, Java, C++, or C#.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), including services like Lambda, S3, EC2, DynamoDB, and IAM.
  • Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Hands-on experience with LLM development and integration, including transformers, RLHF reward modeling, and large-scale language model evaluation.
  • Strong knowledge of DevOps tools and methodologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, AWS Step Functions, Prefect, etc.).
  • Strong analytical skills for processing and modeling large datasets with precision.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building and enhancing personalization systems, search engines, or recommendation engines.
  • Background in neural networks, NLP, or causal inference.
  • Some experience with GIS tools for spatial data analysis (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
  • Contributions to open-source projects in machine learning or DevOps.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
  • Prior experience in the maritime, logistics, or transportation industry is a plus.
