Currently we are looking for a

SENIOR MICROSOFT FABRIC/SYNAPSE DATA ENGINEER

Location: Budapest, full remote

Salary: competitive

Type of work: contractor, 5 months with a possibility to extend

Tasks:

• Understand business processes and use that knowledge to develop database schemas, define relationships, and optimize performance based on the specific requirements of the data solution.
• Implement data quality checks and processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Implement security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
• Optimize solutions for performance and scalability.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, optimize SQL queries, and fine-tune data processing workflows.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including architects, data scientists, data analysts, and business stakeholders.
• Document data engineering processes, system architecture, and data flow diagrams for knowledge sharing and future reference.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data analysts, data architect, data scientists across the organization.

Required skills:

• Independent problem solving, self-starters
• 7+ years of progressively responsible postgraduate experience in data management with a focus on Microsoft
• Fabric/Azure Synapse data modelling.
• Familiarity with Dynamics 365 would be an advantage.
• Proven track record as a Data Engineer or similar role.
• Experience in Data Lake and Data Lakehouse implementation (e.g., Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse).
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other similar SQL databases
• Experience with SQL and PySpark
• Experience in Data Vault implementation
• Experience in data governance, architecture and handling large datasets and data pipelines
• Experience in data products development, business value case development, data product deployment is preferred.
• Candidate needs to be to be currently eligible to work in Hungary
