Job Description

The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for finding trends in Data sets and Developing Algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the Organization. This role requires a significant Set of Technical Skills, including a deep Knowledge of SQL Database Design and Multiple Programming languages along with team management skills. The candidate must be a champion in SQL. You will be responsible for finding trends in Data sets and Developing Algorithms to help make raw data more useful to the Organization.

Responsibilities

• Design and build production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption within a big data architecture
• As a champion in MSSQL, the candidate must understand the existing legacy code and redesign it to make it performant code.
• Handle the technicalities of Data migration project from on-prem to cloud environments.
• You will pair to write clean and iterative code based on TDD
• Leverage various continuous delivery practices to deploy, support and operate data pipelines
• Must have understanding on different distributed storage & computing technologies from the plethora of options available
• Develop and operate modern data architecture approaches to meet key business objectives & provide end-to-end data solutions
• Create data models and speak to the tradeoffs of different modelling approaches
• Seamlessly include data quality into your day-to-day work as well as into the delivery process
• Setting department priorities, goals, and objectives, budget, recruiting, training, work ethic, and culture
• Building service-oriented relationships between the Data Engineering department and other iSOCRATES departments and between the department and external stakeholders
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field.
• Overall, 4 to 6 years of experience in data & analytics
• 3+ years’ experience in MSSQL/Oracle/MySQL.
• Have strong experience in SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Design and build production data pipelines from ingestion to consumption using Python/ AWS/ Snowflake
• Experience in on-prem to cloud data migration projects.
• Design, build and operationalize large-scale enterprise data solutions and applications using one or more of AWS data and analytics services in combination with Mandatory - Redshift, S3, Athena, Good to have - Glue, Snowflake
• Design and implement data engineering, ingestion, and curation functions on AWS cloud using AWS native or custom programming
• Perform detailed assessments of current state data platforms and create an appropriate transition path to AWS cloud
• Should be able to understand the data very well, create a pattern on structured /non-structured data
• Strong knowledge of Data warehouse, Data Modelling (Preferably Dimensional Modelling – Kimball)
• Proficiency in both ETL & ELT
• AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialist / AWS Certified ML Specialist will be an added advantage
• Exposure to Media & Marketing is a plus
• Knowing GCP is a plus
• Knowing 1 or more visualization tools is a plus

• Ability to handle complex problems from design to execution and deliver in time-bound manner under constraints.
• Must be ready to work in Late EMEA or ET hours
• Should be willing to work from Mysore/Bangalore location.
