The job purpose of a Senior BI Developer is to lead and drive the development of advanced BI solutions and deliver actionable insights that support strategic decision-making within the organization. As a senior member of the BI development team, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and guiding junior developers, as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement complex BI projects. Their extensive technical expertise, leadership abilities, and problem-solving skills contribute to the continuous improvement of BI solutions and data management processes.

Job Requirements

• A data person through and through. Started out at the bottom (a junior data position) and grew through various roles to a point were they are a respected data engineer/developer in their current role.
• Strong data modeller. Can speak to examples where they identified issues in the data warehouse model and how they went about resolving it. Including how they managed to coach or influence their team to change approach.
• Technology, not people or process focused problem solver. Tends to see the technologic solution before the people or process aspect.
• Understands that practical implementations are a little messy and a balance needs to be found between a perfect technical solution and meeting business requirements on time.
• Strong business acumen. Able to define the business problem succinctly before progressing to their description of how they went about solving.
• Has worked in an agile context, in a team of minimum 5 people.
• Advanced SQL and deep understanding of the Microsoft on-prem analytics stack (SSIS, SSRS, SSMS)
