Summary

Location: Hybrid - Westlake Village, CA - Tuesdays through Thursdays/weekly. 

Remote available to US-based candidates who currently reside in any one of the following states: IL, WA, MO, AZ, TX, FL, OR, IN, MD, CO, VA

About the Role:  
At Guitar Center, our Analytics Team leverages data to empower the business, drive customer success, and maximize impact. As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll play a crucial role in advancing this vision by partnering with key stakeholders to inform strategy, optimize performance, and scale our insights. This is an opportunity to shape decisions at the largest musical retailer in the country, with visibility up to the highest levels of the organization.   

Key Responsibilities   

  • Strategic Partnership: Serve as the primary analytics partner to the Merchandising team, ensuring their objectives and growth strategies are supported by data-driven insights.   
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Build reports, define KPIs, measure performance, and uncover actionable insights to drive business success.   
  • Scalability & Best Practices: Automate processes, establish best practices, and identify structural improvements to enhance efficiency and impact.   
  • End-to-End Analytics Projects: Translate business questions into analytical frameworks, extract reliable data, generate insights, and deliver actionable recommendations.   
  • Experimentation & Testing: Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests to validate hypotheses and establish causal relationships.   
  • Opportunity Identification: Detect trends and unlock new avenues for growth and customer engagement. 

To join our band, you'll need the following experience: 

  • 4+ years of experience in analytics or a related field, with a track record of leading data projects and delivering insights that drive business outcomes. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills, combining critical thinking with hands-on data analysis to provide both immediate and long-term value. 
  • Advanced SQL proficiency and expertise in data visualization tools such as Tableau or Looker. 
  • Ownership mindset, with a commitment to delivering reliable, high-impact work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Effective communicator, able to translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience in retail and/or the music industry preferred. 
  • Familiarity with Python, R, and other statistical analysis tools. 
  • A curious self-starter, eager to push boundaries, ask the right questions, and follow data wherever it leads. 
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment where decisions have a tangible impact.

Pay Rate: $110,000 - $135,000/yr. depending on background and experience.  

This position is eligible to participate in the Guitar Center Company bonus program based on Company performance. The job posting is not necessarily reflective of actual compensation that may be earned, nor a promise of any specific pay for any specific employee, which is always dependent on actual experience, education, and other factors. The pay range(s) listed are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.
