Summary

INNOVIM is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support NASA’s Earth Observing System Data and Information System (EOSDIS) Evolution and Development 3 (EED-3) contract based out of Maryland. **This position is remote, requires a U.S. Person and quarterly travel for PI Planning** Primary Responsibilities: The Senior Data Analyst is a key data analytics team member supporting the operation and evolution of EED enterprise systems and supporting infrastructure with data-driven recommendations. In this role, the Senior Data Analyst will support the collection, curation, visualization, and automated reporting of information and insights across a suite of data analytics platforms spanning cloud hosted services (Cloud Metrics) and end-user community engagement (Google Analytics). RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducting analysis of system operational data (i.e. system KPIs, cost, security) and interpreting data to aid in understanding of EED enterprise systems. Communicating analytical findings to non-technical stakeholders to help guide organizational decisions. Recommending actionable next steps based on findings. Preparing data visualizations and reporting for both internal application development teams and program leadership via Kibana, AWS QuickSight, CloudWatch, and Google Analytics 4. Supporting data management activities including retention, curation, catalog management, and schema development or extensions to help best provide analytical insights. Supporting statistical and AI/ML modeling of data to help identify trends or anomalies in large data sets. REQUIRED SKILLS: Strong statistical background with the ability to interpret data sets, produce statistical models, and generate insights. Demonstrated experience communicating with technical information, especially as relates to numeric / statistical information through data visualizations. Experience creating visualizations, dashboards, and reports using tools such as Kibana, Quicksight, Google Analytics, and CloudWatch. Experience querying and manipulating large data sets using tools such as SQL, Athena, Elasticsearch, and Splunk. Experience designing databases and schemas based on requirements from data consumers. Ideal candidate should have experience in a variety of data storage types, including relational databases (SQL), no-SQL databases, time-series databases, and object storage (S3). Basic understanding of AI/ML model training, testing, and deployment. Ideal candidate should have an understanding of the various types of Machine Learning and when to best apply them. 3+ years of experience with scripting languages like Python or R DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Experience with ETL tools including AWS Glue, Logstash, or Pyspark Experience developing cloud-hosted application using cloud-native / serverless services such as Lambda, Elastic Container Service, Fargate, SND, SQS, Step Functions, CloudWatch, Kinesis Experience with infrastructure automation via Terraform or CloudFormation Familiarity with DevOps development practices including source code management with Git, CI/CD and automated testing. REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related discipline 6+ years of experience in an engineering role related to data analytics.
