Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED; three years of customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Working knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service and standard office practices and procedures. Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy in dealing with the public and to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Strong PC proficiency and experience in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) required. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; and to work effectively for multiple individuals essential.
Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Responsibilities include serving as the secondary telephone point of contact for incoming calls to the department by answering, screening and directing incoming calls and emails to proper staff. Helping customers includes scheduling environmental inspections, entering in drainage line request, entering tickets into the SWIFT system and researching in ACCELA. Perform cashier duties collecting and verifying a wide range of fees including
One Solution & ACCELA cash receipting of fees for plan review, streetlights, street sign installations, VSMP registration and maintenance fees, BMP maintenance and construction fees, 60/147 Drainage District, erosion control escrow, clearing accounts, and miscellaneous deposits. Verify accuracy of fees collected in other departments on behalf of the department. Perform a wide variety of office support task that includes data entry, monthly mailings, filing, scanning, copying and mail distribution. Verify daily time reports from supervisors of the entire department and ensure department leave slips are submitted and properly authorized, verifying correct reporting against schedule hours. Perform other work as required.
