About the Role:

As a Sr. Cost Estimator, you will play a critical role in analyzing project requirements and generating accurate cost estimates that inform strategic decision-making and drive business growth. This position offers the opportunity to impact customer satisfaction and internal efficiencies by producing timely, precise quotations that support new business development. You’ll collaborate with a talented team to drive innovation and excellence, taking ownership of key responsibilities that directly contribute to our success.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities Include:

• Analyze project scope, drawings, and specs to determine material, labor, and equipment costs
• Choose machinery and manufacturing processes to meet customer requirements
• Coordinate quote development with Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing
• Develop machine cycle times, parts per hour, and labor needs using CAD/CAM and estimating tools like Fusion 360, CAM Assist, and Micro Estimating
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on work holding concepts, fixtures, and tooling for cost estimates
• Prepare detailed cost breakdowns including tooling, gauging, fixtures, lead times, and pricing
• Identify potential risks and contingencies impacting final costs
• Review estimates for accuracy, feasibility, and profitability before quote submission
• Support Account Managers by delivering complete, finalized quotations
• Present cost estimates to clients and internal leadership, providing clarification as needed
• Negotiate vendor pricing and delivery terms to optimize project costs
  
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

Education, Skills, Experience, and Knowledge:

• Skilled in interpreting technical drawings (including GD&T) and specs in metric and imperial units
• Proficient with CAD files (e.g., .STP, CATIA) and extracting cycle time and machine data from models
• Knowledgeable about manufacturing equipment such as VMC, HMC, 3/4/5-axis CNC, turning, bar feeds, and robotic/co-bot automation
• Understand machine tooling and gauging; collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on tooling quotes
• Proficient in data analysis, statistics, spreadsheets, and quoting software
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communicator able to work cross-functionally and gather input from multiple departments
• Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting tight deadlines
• Customer-focused with internal and external stakeholders
• Able to deliver complete quote packages including machine selection, tooling/fixture costs, and labor assumptions
