Job Description - Senior Copywriter

As a senior member of the Please See// writing team, you will be tasked with creating innovative and compelling narratives, platforms, and campaigns that drive businesses and brands forward.

We are looking for someone who thrives on collaboration and understands how to partner with account management, strategy, production, design, and experience experts, and is able to use both traditional and digital to hit campaign and business objectives.

As a Senior Copywriter you will have a passion for writing and keen understanding of the specific demands of brands. Our Senior Copywriters are responsible for brainstorming creative concepts with the team, developing original campaigns, and representing the writer’s perspective in client presentations. You should be able to express your ideas clearly not just on the page (or screen), but face-to-face.

Of equal importance our Senior Copywriters also help to foster the talents of our awesome copywriters at every level, both leading by example and sharing their experience.

What we’d like to see:

  • A strong agency background, as well as the ability to define and articulate unique brand voices that resonate with target audiences, ensuring consistency across all touchpoints.​
  • The ability to craft engaging and informative copy for product packaging, balancing creativity with clarity to enhance shelf appeal and communicate key product benefits.​
  • To be able to work closely with designers, strategists, and clients to develop cohesive brand narratives and messaging strategies.​
  • Demonstrate creative leadership by leading copy development for branding projects, from concept to execution, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and creative briefs.​
  • Great presentation skills, both internally and client-facing. We want you to produce great copy and be able to express your ideas clearly.
  • An appreciation for the relationship between textual and visual elements (and great design in general). We expect our copywriters to understand that a product isn’t great unless the copy and the designs support each other.
  • Work closely with designers, strategists, and clients to develop cohesive brand narratives and messaging strategies.​
  • Review and edit copy to ensure high-quality, error-free output that aligns with brand guidelines and project objectives.
  • Experience proving guidance and support to junior copywriters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and creative excellence.​

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.​
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in copywriting ideally within agency setting, with a focus on branding.​
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a range of projects, demonstrating strategic thinking and attention to detail.​
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.​
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, delivering messages that align with client objectives.​
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions effectively.
