Summary

My client, a national bank, is hiring a 40 hr a week contractor for an ongoing assignment hybrid out of Mclean VA - looking for a senior copywriter to create print & digital content, ideally a background in these marketing areas: premium, luxury, integrated marketing, experiential marketing. Role can pay $50/hr.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Write for a variety print & digital formats, adjusting copy approach for each one.
  • Tailor tone with nuance for a variety of audiences and products, injecting personality in the right spots.
  • Brainstorm big concepts one day and tackle detail-oriented projects the next.
  • Champion and guard the brand.
  • Be an expert of brand & editorial standards, and advocate for them in work.
  • Collaborate with a lot of smart people.
  • Work with team—art directors, creative directors, and Brand.
  • Work with partners—marketing, business and others, internally and externally.
  • Bring the strategy.
  • Adapt approach for widely varying briefs, products, and business goals.
  • Think across integrated channels, products and experiences.
  • Craft messaging hierarchies and copy strategies with smart rationale.
  • Use evidence to inform creative decisions, drawing from (and even helping to drive new) audits, research, consumer trends, and best practices.
  • Proactively bring new ideas that raise the bar and push mindsets.
  • Get stuff done. On time. Every time.
  • Understand the goals of a project, and ask questions when clarity is necessary.
  • Produce high-quality work with an appropriate degree of autonomy.
  • Use judgment to determine when to use existing solutions vs. start from scratch.
  • Manage multiple projects with overlapping timelines, investing time where it counts.
  • Deliver work error-free, using best practices with keen attention to detail.
  • Listen to and incorporate feedback, pushing back appropriately when it’s warranted.
  • Present work in a compelling way to generate support from stakeholders.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of copywriting experience at a senior level
  • Portfolio of strongest and most relevant creative work, including descriptions of creative strategy. The ideal portfolio will show work across integrated channels—both upper and lower funnels.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Creative Writing or Journalism
  • Experience in one or more of the following marketing areas: premium, luxury, integrated marketing, experiential marketing, travel
