Hydra Search have been engaged by an Engineering client in the mining industry who are looking for a Senior Control Systems Engineer on a permanent basis.

As a Control Systems Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing,

implementing, and optimizing control systems for automated mining operations, ensuring

efficient, safe, and reliable performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, configuration, and programming of control systems for mining machinery, equipment, and automated systems, including PLCs and SCADA systems, such as Rockwell/Allen Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Citect.
• Experience with Emerson GE is a bonus
• Integrate new and existing control systems with various mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems to ensure seamless operation across mining operations.
• Oversee the testing, commissioning, and startup of control systems in the field, ensuring all components are functioning as expected and meeting safety standards.
• Work closely with clients to understand their specific needs and provide tailored control systems solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
• Travel to site on an ad hoc basis

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in control systems engineering, with a focus on the mining industry or industrial automation.
• Proficiency in programming and configuring PLCs (Rockwell and/or Schneider preferred) SCADA, and HMI systems.
• Experience with industrial safety standards and practices, such as IEC 61508 and functional safety systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
