We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join a major LNG project in Houston, TX. The ideal person will have Systems Migration experience.
Position Overview
Member of a multi-discipline Engineering Team providing suitable Instrumentation and Control Engineering
guidance and assistance, construction oversight, and operations support, within the E&C department during
FEED and Construction.
Primary responsibility is to oversee the design and implementation for relocation/replication of Control and
Communication servers, controllers, and network switches from existing to the new Control Building, while
minimizing impact on plant production. Will require close coordination with personnel from Operations,
Engineering, Telecoms/IT, Security, and construction contractors.
KNOWLEDGE AND PROFICIENCY
The ideal candidate will have design experience for large industrial facilities including LNG facilities and will
facilitate the design to migrate Control System and Communication equipment from its existing location to secure
rooms in a new Control Building at the Sabine Pass facility. He/she will be expected to maintain timeliness,
accuracy, and thoroughness throughout project lifecycles. This individual will work in a team environment to
oversee the project. While the project is initially expected to be executed in Houston, site travel to support project
construction could be up to 75%.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- Primary authorship of Site Systems Migration Plan
- Understand Instrument Specifications & Technical Bid Tabulations.
- Understand compliance of instrument design with applicable codes and regulations. Provide input on
instrument design as necessary.
- Understanding of DCS/SIS/FGS & communication systems.
- Willingness to travel as business requirements dictate.
- Assist in the development of work scopes of individual system cutovers
- Participate in equipment and services procurement processes
- Able to redline markup existing issued drawings
- Evaluating contractor design against the Migration Plan,
- Construction Contractor oversight and enablement, as well as incorporation of best practices.
- Examine EPC contractor control and telecommunication design to meet requirements, including but not
Limited To
- Review vendor and contractor submittals against best practices, specification & standards.
- Review equipment layout drawings.
- Participate Process Hazard Analyses and provide technical support to other risk assessments,
design reviews, and constructability reviews.
Qualifications (education, Experience, And Skills)
- Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other relevant discipline from an
accredited university. A Professional Engineer (PE) License in good standing is preferred. Must
possess or be able to attain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
- Experience: Minimum of ten (10) years in Instrumentation and Controls design, preferably with EPC
experience. Experience with relocation of plant control rooms with no disruption to production. Working
knowledge of Oil and Gas industry codes and standards expected.

- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree
of accuracy.
- Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
- Computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Access, and
PowerPoint.
- The selected engineer is an expert in his/her technical field and requires minimal supervision.
WORK CONDITIONS
- Job is performed in a typical office environment in Houston and at the Sabine LNG Facility in Louisiana
in a construction environment.
- Occasionally required to travel, as business conditions dictate.
