A well-established automation engineering company is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to join their collaborative, fast-paced team. This role involves designing and developing complex control systems for automated assembly and test equipment across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and specify control systems, including PLCs, IPCs, HMIs, motion control, vision systems, and robotics
- Develop system architecture and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
- Implement ISO-compliant safety systems and ensure compliance with UL508A, NFPA79, IEC, and NEC standards
- Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and software developers
- Support panel fabrication, system integration, FAT, and commissioning
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
- You will work heavily on the hardware side of controls, and although you need to understand PLC programming, you will not be writing code.
- Hands-on experience with components from Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and similar vendors
- Strong understanding of motion control, networking, robotics, and vision systems
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office tools
- Knowledge of safety system design and industry electrical standards
