Job Description
As a Senior CNC Operator/Set-Up, you will be responsible for the precise programming, set-up, and operation of CNC machinery to produce high-quality metal and plastic components. This role requires advanced technical skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and quality standards.
Shift Hours: Monday – Friday 6am – 2:30pm
Responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate CNC and manual machine tools, including milling and turning centers, grinders, press brakes, drill presses, saws, shears, and punch presses.
- Write, edit, and optimize CNC programs using specialized software to control machining processes.
- Analyze blueprints and engineering drawings to determine machining requirements, part dimensions, and cut configurations.
- Select appropriate tools and determine machining parameters based on material type and part specifications.
- Inspect first-run and production parts using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges, etc.) to verify accuracy and quality.
- Maintain close tolerances and ensure proper condition of cutting tools.
- Recommend tooling and equipment improvements to enhance machining processes.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a CNC operator or machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- Completion of a two-year technical college program or equivalent apprenticeship in a recognized trade.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Advanced knowledge of CNC programming, set-up, and operation across multiple machine types.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills; ability to apply handbook formulas and technical theory.
- Skilled in the use of a variety of precision measuring instruments.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under pressure.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle moderate physical effort.
- Capable of working with light to average weight materials in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly pay rate for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s experience. Compensation commensurate with qualifications and skill level.
