The Company

Common Securitization Solutions (CSS) is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Operations Engineer to join our team of talented professionals. This is a full-time remote opportunity.

CSS built and operates the largest and most advanced mortgage securitization platform in the world, supporting the Uniform Mortgage-Backed Security (UMBS) of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Responsibilities

Job Information

Do you have an interest in Cloud Infrastructure support and DevOps methodologies, software architecture design and cloud computing? The Cloud Operations Engineer will be responsible for creating infrastructure designs and guiding the development, implementation of cloud applications, systems and processes and supporting the infrastructure there after. As a member of Cloud infrastructure Operations team, you will be working directly with the Site Reliability Engineering, Aplication Support, and business teams. The ideal candidate will be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment and participate in on-call rotation to support production infrastructure.

Key Job Functions

  • Enhance CSS's Cloud Operations practice by participating in activities to automate manual business and IT processes.
  • Automate infrastructure in Amazon Web Services with Terraform and CloudFormation.
  • Automate backup and restoration processes and test the recovery of those backups on a regular basis.
  • Actively support operational teams and other stakeholder teams to maintain business continuation and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Build CI/CD pipeline configurations to orchestrate provisioning and deployment of both large and small scale systems.
  • Write unit tests and integration tests to validate infrastructure code.
  • Identify engineering defects in the existing code base and constantly improve the code quality.
  • Automate monitoring tools such as Splunk and Amazon CloudWatch to monitor system health and reliability to support high uptime requirements.
  • Actively support operational teams and other stakeholder teams to maintain business continuation and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Support the production and lower environments infrastructure 24/7 as part of the production support team.
  • Participate in on-call rotation as infrastructure support to production.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or related technical field required.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of related work experience in AWS technologies.
  • Active AWS Solutions Architect Associate certification is required.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring employer sponsorship currently or in the future. CSS does not offer H-1B sponsorship for this position.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong Python and UNIX shell coding skills required.
  • Knowledgeable in developing cloud formation templates and automated deployment of AWS resources.
  • Basic understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) methodologies.
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux and windows operating systems with experience in installation of patches and updates.
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot system issues, problems, identifying root causes and fixing them.
  • Proficient in computer hardware, software, and networking technologies.
  • Must be willing to provide on call support on a rotation basis for 24x7 support. When on call, requires off hour and weekend support.

Pay Range $141,750 to $158,000

CSS’s pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience , as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law. CSS offers a competitive total compensation package, which includes a performance bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage, PTO, and a broad range of other benefits.
