About the Role
The Senior Cloud Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, deploying, and maintaining modern cloud infrastructure to support a range of high-impact projects. This position involves full lifecycle responsibility for cloud infrastructure design, implementation, and maintenance, primarily within AWS environments, with occasional work in Azure.
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud solutions align with project goals and industry best practices. Ideal candidates will have a proactive, solution-focused mindset, a strong background in cloud architecture, and a passion for automation and efficiency through DevOps principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, secure, and reliable cloud infrastructure for client and internal projects.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to guide infrastructure planning and promote adherence to best practices.
- Contribute to the development of internal tools and standards to improve engineering quality and productivity.
- Provide ad hoc support for active client initiatives and internal engineering challenges.
- Actively champion improvements in tooling, processes, and cloud capabilities across the organisation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in containerisation and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Helm, ECS, and Kubernetes.
- Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools, especially Terraform.
- Familiarity with source control and change management practices.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment/testing tools.
- Scripting experience in Bash and Python for automation and operational tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
- Python development experience within application environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (AWS-native or third-party).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Comfortable working independently and in team settings.
