Job Description

Your Mission:

• Enabling the staging environment for comprehensive business testing
• Managing the SaaS third-party Tagetik application (upgrades, monitoring, etc.)
• Management of the Kubernetes cluster and the Azure subscription (e.g. increasing security, managing alerts)
• Collaborating in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment, security, and high availability in the cloud
• Working closely with the development teams to understand their needs and code infrastructure deployments in Terraform
• Keeping documentation concise, accurate, and up to date
• Contributing to continual improvement, e.g. increasing automation, better observability, and removing technical debt
• Providing third-level support during critical periods
  
  

About The Customer

For our client, a global leader in the insurance and reinsurance industry, we are looking for an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer - Financial Data.

Everyday is a different day

You will join a small team engineering and supporting Cloud Engineering solutions in Microsoft Azure for the finance data & analytics area of an international financial services firm. One day you might be creating and testing terraform; another managing our Kubernetes cluster; while the next increasing the observability of one of our products; on yet another day you might be pulled into a complex problem and need to investigate a performance issue in Databricks

• Start: ASAP or latest June 2025
• Duration: until 31.12.2025, possible extension
• Location: Zurich, 4 days/week onsite
• Pensum: 100%, 41.25h/week

Requirements

Your Profile:

• Degree in applied science, engineering or computer science (or equivalent applied professional experience)
• Minimum 5 years of experience as Cloud Engineer with great skills in Microsoft Azure
• Good experience writing terraform (preferable a Terraform Associate)
• Good general understanding of networking, compute and security concepts relevant to the public cloud
• Good skills with a shell/scripting language e.g. PowerShell or Bash
• good working knowledge of git
• Experience with at least one RDBMS
• Being fluent in Python is a plus
• Strong interest in/motivation to learn about insurance/reinsurance
• Excellent in English, verbal and written
