Job Summary
RailPros has an
immediate opening for a
Civil Engineer to join our outstanding team of
engineering professionals. We are looking for a
highly motivated individual with experience in
general civil engineering, strong
Civil 3D proficiency, and
proven expertise in developing
PS&E for
civil projects.
This is an

utilities, drainage plans, and
civil design reviews across the
United States.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Experience with transit-related projects, including facilities and rail systems.
- Proficient in specification writing with knowledge of CSI and Greenbook formats.
- Skilled in MicroStation and OpenRoads for design development.
- Facility Design and permit processing expertise.
- Perform trend analysis and audits to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
- Provide mentorship and training support to junior engineers and team members.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and clients to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Support compliance reporting and ensure design consistency across multiple projects.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams and assist with investigations as required.
- Other duties as assigned or required to meet the business needs
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- 5–10 years of experience in developing construction plans, specifications, and estimates.
- Strong field engineering and design support during construction background.
- High-level proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Expertise in site grading, utility design, and drainage systems.
- Ability to lead design teams and mentor junior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
- PE License in California or the ability to obtain by comity.
Preferred Education & Experience
- Proficiency in Hydrology/Hydraulic design and calculations.
- Experience with SUSMPs, WQMPs, and SWPPPs.
- QSD/QSP registration preferred.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversee consultants’ work, including design peer reviews and cost estimates.
- Plan and coordinate program activities for major projects.
- Develop and implement operational procedures to ensure compliance with policies and performance standards.
Additional Qualifications & Certifications
- PE License in California or the ability to obtain through comity.
Compensation
Salary Range (California Only): $90,000 - $120,000 / year.
Compensation Will Be Based On Education, Experience, And Qualifications.
