The Roles

The Student360 Program is a key component of Macquarie University’s digital transformation roadmap and will establish a digital platform based on Salesforce Education Cloud for student support and administration in the third quarter of 2024. The first phase of this program, the Student360 Foundation project (S360F), will improve our students’ experiences by providing more streamlined and personalised service delivery, integrating data from multiple systems, and facilitating faster and easier resolution of service requests.

S360F will leverage the foundational capability of Salesforce Education Cloud, MuleSoft and AWS Connect to decommission legacy technology. Future projects within the Student 360 Program are planned across 2025 and 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the University's digital transformation journey.

In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering key project data components within the Master Data Management Stream (MDM) and Data Stream. You will bridge the gap between the technical delivery of data and Service Connect operational reporting. You will work with the business to document data lineage for critical applications and apply that to deploying a new enterprise-wide MDM application. This role requires a deep understanding of business processes, technical systems, and data management.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business requirements related to operational reporting, core components such as Salesforce Education Cloud and MDM. Translate business requirements into technical specifications, aligning them with the University’s standards for managing data in a data warehouse.
  • Conduct a thorough analysis of the current University applications, identifying gaps and integration opportunities with MDM.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of University applications, maintaining data consistency and user experience.
  • Provide guidance to the technical teams to ensure alignment with business requirements and resolve queries.
  • Serve as the liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring effective communication and understanding of technical solutions and their business benefits.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, data models, and process and data flows.
  • Keep detailed records of requirements and changes.
  • Provide timely support to users, addressing issues and maintaining system functionality.

About You

You are an experienced Technical Data Business Analyst and subject matter expert in data management and analytics including:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in Salesforce implementation projects, ideally across multiple industries or sectors.
  • Proven experience in designing end-to-end Salesforce solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • Proficiency in Salesforce configuration and integration tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in both business and technical contexts.
  • A degree or equivalent experience in information management, computer science, software, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive experience working in business intelligence, data warehouse or advanced analytics projects.
  • In-depth understanding of digital transformation concepts and methodologies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical business analysis, particularly with large data models, data warehouses, data modelling and transformation.
  • Snowflake and SQL skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

Certification in agile methodologies (eg Certified Scrum Master) is highly desirable.
