POSITION SUMMARY On-site project leader supporting the design, installation, and implementation of all technical aspects of newly-installed Building Automation Systems in retrofit or newly constructed buildings. Performs highly complex and innovative software integration, design and programming, trial runs and investigative tests. What you'll do: * Redlines and designs and creates all custom software programs, point database and graphics that are used with the workstations and website interfaces and building automation systems consisting of mechanical system layouts, electrical drawings, bill of materials, sequence of operations, valve and damper schedules, DDC panel layouts to meet the intent of the project plans, specifications and contract documents for small or special projects. * Executes project check out, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of installed BAS controls assigned projects. * Runs complex reports to analyze system operation, works with project team to demonstrate system operation and verify consistency with the contracted scope of work. * Completes complex drawings to suit engineering changes and initiates engineering changes. * Completes the creation of complex design layouts and detail drawings of complex products. * Participates in the layout and coordination of network drops, IP addresses and monitoring tools with customer's IT Department personnel. * Participates in pre-booking meetings to gain knowledge of the sales estimate and project scope. Works with engineering group and/or supervisors to analyze plans, specifications, and contract to determine system requirements. Selects products, sizes, types, and location placement to ensure products meet specification requirements. * Leads technical teams to execute flawless technical product support for building automation systems that have been newly installed. Trains and mentors technicians, Controls Engineering Specialists and Project Engineers. * Facilitates and designs the curriculum for product and service training to customers. Performs highly complex and innovative software integration, design and programming, trial runs and investigative tests * Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. * 10+ years' of relevant technical hands on experience in systems programming and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems (DDC) * Expert working knowledge in HVAC mechanical and/or Electrical systems * Advanced knowledge of computers and MS Suite software products, specifically Excel * Delta and Distech controls systems knowledge required * Expert troubleshooting skills in mechanical and electrical systems. * Successfully demonstrates expert knowledge of a technical or specialty area. * AutoCAD and/or drafting experience. * Extensive knowledge of project accounting, costing principals and contracting, preferred * Capable of working with and leading teams of individuals as well as on one's own. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, positive customer relation skills, time management, and organizational skills YOU Matter PEOPLE FIRST: BUILDING TALENT BY DESIGN At Southland we aspire to build a workforce that's as diverse as the people who occupy the buildings we design, build and maintain.
