Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Bracing (Structural/Civil) Engineer in Pleasanton, CA. Summary: This position is responsible for independently delivering engineering services, with a proven track record of excellence from conceptual design through construction completion. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Independently complete conceptual design through construction drawing development for bracing of pipes, HVAC etc. for large complex project or multiple projects simultaneously * Appropriate engagement of engineering applications and/or managers in project decisions * Proactively communicate and coordinate project designs with Project Management, Construction and Service departments, Controls, and other trade partners * Field engineering: assist with project execution, trade coordination, scheduling, document management and problem solving/troubleshooting, as required * Effectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members * Manage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines * Equipment anchorage calculations and PE wet stamped installation package including BOM * Equipment vibration isolation calculations and PE wet stamped installation package including BOM * Design roof top duct and pipe supports, and PE stamped installation package including BOM * Riser duct and pipe supports, and PE stamped installation package * Seismic restraint calculations for duct and pipe * Roof structure verification of existing structures for equipment replacement * Structural design of equipment skids * Design of supplemental steel for equipment, duct or pipe supports including BOM * Create templates and standard designs for supports, attachments and seismic bracing that creates an economy of scale that is cost effective to install and build * Other duties as assigned by Manager* BS in Structural or Civil Engineering * Professional Engineer license highly desirable, but not required; Must be able to obtain within a short period of time * 8+ years of experience in structural design of bracing systems (pipes, HVAC, etc.) * Excellent understanding of engineering and design fundamentals * Excellent familiarity with building codes and industry standards * Thorough understanding of seismic bracing design, attachment design, supplemental support design * Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit or Bluebeam, or similar drafting software preferred * Knowledgeable with 3D modeling software to create design and installation packages * Expert in project planning, coordination, and execution * Expert level understanding of building codes, structural guidelines, and best practices * Excellent understanding of ACCO engineering standards and project execution processes * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Able to work independently with limited oversight, as well as part of a highly collaborative team * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and multitask
