This is a remote position.

We are seeking a Senior Backend Python Engineer to join our team, self-driven Backend Python Engineer for our AWS, Python micro-services backend. In this role, you will strategize and build architecture ranging from job queues for compute-intense tasks, custom LLM model hosting, REST APIs, PostgreSQL databases and migrations, third-party integrations, ETL pipelines, and more.

Responsibilites:

• Write Python Lambda microservices.
  
• Perform database migrations using Alembic.
  
• Strategize the creation, maintenance, and scaling of our REST API.
  
• Build novel features that affect $100m+ in managed customer assets.
  
• Work with a small, talented, senior team of developers.
  
• Build software you’re proud of.
  
• Begin by standing up comprehensive QA systems and processes.
  

Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience.
  
• 3+ years of recent Python experience.
  The desire to passionately “own” the systems you’re responsible for.
• Work independently and creatively to drive our business forward.
  
• Experience testing REST APIs and microservice architectures.
  
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and test automation in cloud environments.
  
• Excellent troubleshooting and debugging skills.
  
• Strong communication abilities and experience working in remote teams.
  
• Experience integrating AI/ML systems is a plus.
  
• Prior experience working with e-commerce or financial systems is a plus.
