Role

Senior Backend Engineer responsible for designing and developing backend services using Python and AWS Serverless technologies in a startup environment focused on property assessment technology.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Python and AWS Serverless technologies
• Implement scalable, event-driven applications using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, and more
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Write scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable code
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to technology, algorithms and products
• Ensure coding, testing and documentation tasks are successfully performed
• Help improve code quality through writing unit tests, automation and performing code reviews

Ideal

• 10-15 years experience in backend development
• Experience working with Python.
• Proven experience designing and building serverless applications on AWS
• Deep knowledge of AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Step Functions, S3 and CloudFormation
• Strong grasp of event-driven architecture, microservices, and RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch)
• Excellent problem solving skills and ability to lead technical discussions

Nice to Have

• AWS certification
• Knowledge of security best practices in the cloud
• Experience with containerization (Docker)
