With strong growth and profitability, we’re now expanding into new languages and markets—and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help scale the data infrastructure behind our real-time media insights.

About the role

You’ll join our Platform Team—the engine behind the data that powers All Ears. Working closely with our CPTO and the Customer Success team, along with your teammates, to plan and deliver projects that expand our media monitoring capabilities. At the same time, you'll ensure our systems remain stable and follow best practices in architecture, always with a strong focus on delivering customer value.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer at All Ears, you will:

• Develop and maintain backend systems and microservices in Python using Django.
• Design and manage distributed systems for large-scale data processing.
• Work on scaling services, including DevOps tasks like database management and optimization (e.g., in Postgres).
• Implement and maintain search functionality using Elasticsearch or similar technologies.
• Develop and enhance our data collection and scraping solutions.
• Optimize system performance through effective caching strategies.
• Use and configure Docker for containerization and service distribution.
• Work with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP to scale and operate our applications.
• Contribute to high code quality through code reviews, testing, and clear documentation.

What we’re looking for

• At least 5 years of backend development experience, preferably in product-driven or fast-growing tech environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Django, or similar backend frameworks and languages.
• Hands-on experience with data scraping, with a solid understanding of both the technical and ethical considerations.
• Experience handling large datasets and solving scaling/database architecture challenges.
• An ownership mindset, you take responsibility for system design and write maintainable, long-term code
• A structured yet pragmatic approach, you appreciate clean processes but know when to prioritize progress.
• A strong communicator and team player who enjoys working where tech meets business.
