About The Role

We're hiring a backend engineer to help us build the future of finance. You'll work across backend systems, scaling and developing core product features, and integrating LLMs throughout the platform. This role is hands-on, high-impact, and technically challenging — ideal for someone entrepreneurial, scrappy, and excited to solve some of the toughest engineering problems in fintech.

This is an in-person role at our Flatiron office in NYC, five days a week.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and maintain the core backend systems that power our platform.
• Collaborate with founders, designers, and fellow engineers to ship features daily.
• Tackle complex technical challenges around scale, performance, and security.
• Contribute to key architectural decisions as we scale the product and team.
• Help shape the engineering culture of a fast-moving, high-ownership startup.
• Integrate LLMs into product workflows to enhance intelligence, automation, and user experience.

What You’ll Need

• Strong backend engineering skills (e.g. Java, Postgres, Spring Boot).
• Experience scaling systems from inception to mass use.
• Familiarity with LLMs and AI integration (e.g. OpenAI, LangChain, vector DBs).
• Comfort navigating ambiguity, making architectural decisions, and owning outcomes.
• A scrappy, startup mindset — you move fast, learn quickly, and do more with less.

Salary Range Details

The compensation range for this position is set between $150,000 and $180,000, reflecting our market analysis and other relevant considerations. However, exceptions may be made for candidates with qualifications that significantly differ from those outlined in the job description.
