Position Title: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, secure, and maintain our Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure. This role will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud engineering, automation, and best practices to ensure a secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud environment that supports our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cloud Architecture & Management:
- Design and implement secure, scalable, and highly available AWS architectures.
- Manage day-to-day AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and more.
- Lead cloud resource provisioning, cost optimization, and performance monitoring.
- Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK.
- Automate deployment pipelines (CI/CD) using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, etc.
- Security & Compliance:
- Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, including IAM policies, network segmentation, and encryption.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet regulatory and audit requirements.
- Monitoring & Incident Response:
- Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting using AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, ELK Stack, etc.
- Respond to incidents and troubleshoot performance or availability issues in the AWS environment.
- Collaboration & Mentorship:
- Collaborate with DevOps, software engineering, and IT teams to support application deployments and cloud integration.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior cloud engineers and other IT staff.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud engineering and architecture.
- Strong experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Deep understanding of networking, security, and high availability in the cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like ECS or EKS.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional or similar certification strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration strategies.
- Familiarity with ITIL, DevSecOps practices, and compliance frameworks (e.g., FedRAMP, HIPAA, NIST).
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Working Conditions:
- May be required to participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.
- Remote work may be available depending on organizational policy.
