We are seeking a highly technical and self-driven Senior AWS Cloud Engineer to join our Business Systems Development team. This individual contributor role is hands-on and focused on designing, building, and securing hybrid cloud environments with a cloud-first mindset. The ideal candidate will work closely with Network Engineering, Information Security, and Application teams to develop scalable and resilient infrastructure in AWS while ensuring seamless integration with on-prem systems. Strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement AWS solutions using VPCs, Direct Connect, IAM, Control Tower, and multi-account strategies
  • Engineer hybrid cloud environments with a focus on security, reliability, and performance
  • Develop and manage infrastructure as code using AWS CDK (Python/NodeJS)
  • Collaborate with development and network teams to enhance CI/CD pipelines and apply SRE principles
  • Establish observability using SecurityHub, CloudWatch, and related tooling; drive incident management and root cause analysis
  • Participate in on-call rotation and support operational excellence
  • Contribute to GitOps practices using tools like Flux, ArgoCD, Kustomize, and Helm
  • Support containerized workloads and Kubernetes environments, including EKS and network/storage configurations

Qualifications

  • AWS Solutions Architect – Associate (SAA-C02) certification required
  • 3+ years of experience architecting and implementing AWS cloud solutions
  • Strong knowledge of IAM, Control Tower, SCPs/RCPs, and hybrid networking in regulated environments
  • Experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, EKS, ECS, Direct Connect, and VPC
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, and Loki
  • Hands-on experience with containers (Docker, Podman), CI/CD tools (Jenkins), and scripting languages (Shell, Python)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, Kafka, and GitOps practices is highly desirable
  • Programming experience in Java or NodeJS/React is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial or other regulated industries is a plus
