Electromechanical Technician Mayflower Communications Company is a technology leader in the research and development of GPS (Global Positioning System) related hardware and software, including specialized receivers, anti-jam systems and other advanced products for government and commercial markets. Mayflower’s R&D focus includes GPS/INS systems, adaptive space-time antenna control techniques, data link receivers, attitude determination and control systems, and wireless communication systems. This position requires US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance. Planned growth and increased production have created an urgent need for an experienced Electromechanical Technician to join our expanding team. Responsibilities: The primary responsibilities of the Electromechanical Technician include the assembly of electronics into mechanical assemblies, housings and the support of daily production operations (assisting in product debug analysis, inspection, RMA’s, etc). This position could also include the soldering of components down to the 0201, building wire harnesses & cables, and assemble of test fixtures. Minimum Requirements: Ability to read and understand schematics, as well as interpreting mechanical and electrical product documentation Assembly and testing of precision mechanical devices Experience using standard hand tools, drills, files etc. Proficient with hand crimp tools and assembling cables and/or wire harnesses Proficiency with soldering electrical components (201) and small gauge wires is a must. IPC J-STD-001 Soldering Certificate or willingness to obtain one is desirable IPC-A-610 Certificate or willingness to obtain one is desirable Experience working with wires from 10-32 AWG Familiarity with standard D-subminiature connectors Familiarity with machine and cabinet wiring Follow 6S and lean manufacturing principles and practices in an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment Previous experience related to military/aerospace segments is a plus.
