Position Summary: Senior Architect

The Senior Architect is a pivotal role responsible for steering architectural design processes, managing client engagements, and overseeing project execution from inception to completion. This position demands a deep understanding of architectural principles, technical proficiency in design tools, and the ability to integrate client needs with project deliverables. The Senior Architect ensures that all design activities align with project budgets, timelines, and regulatory standards, while also contributing to business development and maintaining professional credentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, pursue, and manage large-scale architectural projects, ensuring comprehensive understanding and alignment of client objectives with project scope and deliverables.
  • Develop detailed project proposals, encompassing precise scopes of work, comprehensive cost estimates, and project timelines.
  • Maintain continuous, direct communication with clients, providing regular updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate and oversee project schedules, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Manage subconsultant engagements, including reviewing and approving contracts, deliverables, and ensuring alignment with project standards.
  • Lead the execution of visual surveys, including site inspections, precise measurements, as-built documentation, and photographic evidence to inform design decisions.
  • Direct testing and investigative procedures, analyze data, and produce detailed reports with actionable recommendations.
  • Oversee the development and refinement of architectural drawings and specifications utilizing AutoCAD, Revit, and other industry-standard software.
  • Manage the bidding process, including the preparation of contracts, bid advertisements, addenda, and all related documentation.
  • Administer construction contracts by conducting pre-bid and pre-construction meetings, reviewing submittals, issuing detailed feedback, and processing change orders.
  • Ensure comprehensive project closeout procedures, including the finalization of documentation, budget reconciliation, and post-project evaluations.
  • Contribute to business development by identifying potential clients, fostering industry relationships, and supporting the preparation of RFQ responses and marketing materials.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current architectural standards, codes, and best practices, while ensuring compliance with professional licensure and certification requirements.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field.
  • Licensed Architect with active registration; additional state licenses are a plus.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design, project management, and client relations.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other design and drafting software.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and industry regulations.
  • Proven track record in managing complex, multidisciplinary architectural projects.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop detailed technical proposals and manage project budgets effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client management skills.
  • Experience in business development, including client engagement, proposal writing, and networking within the industry.
  • Commitment to professional development, including ongoing education in architectural standards and software advancements.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Pre-Employment background check and drug screen required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
