I have a brand new permanent role, with of my financial services clients in Galway. This role would be for a Senior API Security Platform Engineer falling within an Application and Infrastructure Security Product team within the Enterprise Cybersecurity function.

Skills Required:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably with a focus on Application or API Security.
• In-depth understanding of API protocols and frameworks such as REST, SOAP, GraphQL, gRPC, as well as API gateways and authentication/authorization standards (OAuth2, OIDC, JWT).
• Strong grasp of OWASP API Security Top 10 and secure coding methodologies.
• Familiarity with common API vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
• Experience in runtime security, eBPF, and traffic monitoring for API discovery.
• Expertise in API Security frameworks, security testing tools (DAST, AST, etc.), and runtime API protection platforms is highly advantageous.
• Background in application security, including pen testing, Static Composition Analysis (SCA), Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and Web Application Firewalls (WAF) is a plus.
