The Opportunity
The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role will oversee a team of accountants and work closely with other departments to support the company’s financial objectives.
To succeed as a Senior Accounting Manager, you should be analytical, detail-oriented, and ethical. The ideal Senior Accounting Manager candidate will possess excellent leadership and interpersonal skills as well as a strong understanding of accounting and management principles.
What You Will Do
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
- Month-End Close: Oversee the month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, including alignment to standards such as ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards, including tax filings and audits.
- Monitor Revenue and Expenses: Ensure the company’s financial wellbeing by tracking revenue and expenses, consolidating and analyzing financial data, preparing special reports, maintaining internal controls and other best practices, and reporting activity to internal and external stakeholders.
- Accounting Team Management: Supervise and delegate tasks to a team of accountants, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance.
- Achieve Operational Objectives: Provide accurate, timely data and recommendations to leadership and business partners. Develop action plans, audit operations, and propose efficiency improvements and collaborate with P&L owners to implement improvements.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing analysis and insights to support decision-making.
- Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with other departments and serve as a point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
What we expect from you
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role. Big 4 private company audit experience is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a team.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Additional Opportunity Details:
Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $120,000-$140,000*
