The ideal candidate will have substantial exposure to monthly closing processes, forecasting and budgeting, and customer billing. They will be organized and approach each issue with an analytical mindset.

Day-to-Day:

• Responsible for overseeing all plant finance and accounting functions including A/R, A/P, Inventory, Fixed Assets, and General Ledger.
• Ability to coach, develop, and manage a team of approx. 3 direct reports.
• Identifies EBIT and margin improvement opportunities.
• Manages the monthly close, and aids in monthly forecast, and annual budget.
• Performs monthly financial reports and explains results in detail.
• Performs ongoing review of internal controls to ensure accounting procedures and financial reports are in compliance with US GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley and Silgan internal accounting policies.
• Demonstrated ability to streamline processes through documentation, training, and technology.
• Serves as backup for A/R, A/P and Plant Controller when necessary.
• Supports internal and external audits.

Desired Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in manufacturing, accounting, or supervisory roles preferred.
• Previous experience demonstrating leadership of projects.
• Advanced proficiency and experience with Microsoft Excel and related financial systems.
