  • Walsham le Willows CEVC Primary School - Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk IP31 3BD
  • SEN Teaching Assistant
  • £24,027 per annum (pro rata), Grade 2, Point 3
  • Part Time, 28.75 hours per week, 5.75 hours per day, 5 days per week, 38 weeks per year, plus PD days as required
  • Temporary 2 year contract
  • Reference: 7331
  • Required to start September 2025 (potential earlier start, if available)


We are looking to appoint a flexible and hard-working SEN Teaching Assistant.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • has proven experience working successfully with children across the primary age range
  • has high aspirations for children in their care and can support them to flourish and make progress, however small the steps
  • has high expectations of children’s behaviour and can manage this effectively
  • is calm, positive and patient
  • is able to use their own initiative and can “think on their feet”
  • enjoys working as part of a team, can contribute ideas and can also accept feedback
  • has the interpersonal skills to develop positive and supportive relationships with children, colleagues and parents/carers
  • supports our Christian vision and ethos
  • can deliver interventions as appropriate to support individual needs of children
  • experience of or strong passion for working with children with special educational needs.


You will need:

  • good literacy and numeracy skills and able to communicate well
  • the ability to inspire and motivate children
  • knowledge of the curriculum requirements for primary schools
  • a belief that there are no limits to learning and a commitment to ensuring that every young person achieves their potential.
