Department Details: Our department is responsible for installing and maintaining Security Systems at all Banner Health facilities which includes Access Control, Video Surveillance, Infant Security, and intrusion/panic alarm systems. POSITION SUMMARY This position installs and maintains complex computerized security systems including but not limited to, clustered access systems, alarm panels, and infant abduction hardware/software. This position installs, maintains and troubleshoots any 24-hour four volt system that has been integrated into the security system such as automatic door openers, cameras, emergency call boxes, wireless transmitters and receivers, and fiber optic infrastructure. The position must interface with city and state regulatory officials presenting for approval technical plans for engineered electronic systems. CORE FUNCTIONS 1. Maintains project inventory. Orders, receives, and applies critical components for each assigned project. This includes receiving and maintaining hospital signed and approved project documentation. 2. Integrates and installs security devices. This includes maintaining strict structure cabling standards during and after installations. Attention to hospital, state and local codes must be maintained at all times. 3. Repairs of all special systems equipment including technical repairs, system resets, and reconfigurations. 4. Documents all aspects of service calls in computer tracking system. This includes compiling install history and determining the cost effective repair while following written national service standards. 5. Provides instruction to staff in the care and use of special systems equipment and provides specifications for new equipment as needed. 6. Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment operations. 7. This position has service responsibility in several department in multiple facilities. Customers are internal and external including physicians, nurses other hospital and HMO personnel, state and multiple city regulatory agencies. This position will be required to travel system wide to effect repairs and implement new installations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must possess a strong knowledge of electronics technology as normally obtained through the completion of an Associate's decree. Must posses a valid driver's license and be eligible for coverage under the company auto insurance policy Knowledge of computer hardware and software applications is required. Requires ability to read and understand CAD drawings, detailed engineered wiring schematics and relay logic. Knowledge and understanding of TCP/IP, two and four wire RS485, RS232, Network, Fiber, and Lon Work communications, CSID dialing formats, RF signals, passive and active Prox RF transmissions. Requires the ability to produce wiring schematics using OHMS law. Requires effective communication skills, including written and verbal. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of the application of installation, engineering, design, maintenance and repair of complex computerized devices and circuitry typically achieved with 2 years experience with security systems is preferred.
