Role: Security Engineer / Architect Location: Austin, TX 78746 zip code (Hybrid role, 3 days a week in the office; Tues - Wed - Thurs in the office) Pay Rate: Targeting between $55 to $60 hourly on w/2 (When converted to fulltime, salary is between $105K to $115K) Duration: Six month contract to hire Work Authorization: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the US without sponsorship, either now or in the future.
My client is expanding its Cybersecurity & Architecture team and seeking a security architect with expertise in Azure, Zero Trust Architecture, and enterprise security. The role involves designing security frameworks, performing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with security policies. Key Responsibilities:
Conduct security architecture assessments for applications and infrastructure
Develop and maintain security guidelines, artifacts, and best practices
Perform security risk assessments for internal applications and new technologies
Implement and maintain Zero Trust Architecture principles
Evaluate Azure Governance & Policies to ensure compliance
Assess virtual networks for internet exposure and security risks
Manage and configure firewalls, IPS, Zscaler, and Netskope
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve security posture
Required Skills & Experience: Experience:
2-4 years in security architecture
6-10 years in IT security, networking, or system administration
Background in cybersecurity, network administration, or Linux administration
Experience transitioning from Administrator → Engineer → Architect
Technical Skills:
Cloud: Azure (Governance, Policies)
Networking: Cisco, Linux, Windows
Security Tools: Netskope, Zscaler, Firewalls, IPS
DevOps: Azure DevOps
Certifications (Preferred):
CISSP
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) or equivalent security certifications
