Job Description
An employer is looking for a Secret Flight Safety Engineer onsite in El Segundo, CA to support an exciting DOD space program. The Flight Safety Engineer will be responsible for evaluating and certifying real-time embedded code to ensure software compliance with the aviation industry to support certification of modernized GPS user equipment. They will review software and help create a system that will make a difference in identifying needed system improvements to support the government customer.
Pay rate: $75-110/hr depending on experience

Skills and Requirements
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM
- 5+ years of experience with development or evaluation of aviation software
- Experience with software / hardware reviews per Radio Technical Commission (RTCA) for Aeronautics DO-178 and DO-254
- Experience with flight safety certification
- Knowledge of Technical Standard Order (TSO) program authorization processes and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and guidance - Experience with Military GPS User Equipment (MGUE)
- Experience with reviewing and approving MSO functional data per MSO-C145, MSO-C204, DO-229, or DO-160
- Experience with Space Based Augmentation Systems (SBAS) / GNSS Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) / (Global Positioning System (GPS) civil signals (L5, L2C, L1C) receivers null
