Job Title: Secondary Instructional Coach Exemption Status: Exempt/Professional
and District Testing Coordinator
Reports to: Campus Principal School(s)/Dept: District-Wide/Instructional
Primary Purpose
Provide instructional coaching support to teachers who will elevate their instructional capacity to ensure quality learning experience for all students; provide instructional support to assist teachers with developing skills in the preparation of effective lesson planning, presentation of content, selection of appropriate and engaging resources, and classroom management; provide observation and feedback that will support teacher performance.
District Testing Coordinator Supplemental Duties And Responsibilities
Implement state and federally mandated student assessment programs for the district. Ensure security and integrity of testing materials and data in accordance with state and federal requirements.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Master’s degree from accredited university (preferred)
Valid Texas Teaching Certificate
Certified Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) appraiser
Special Knowledge/Skills
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Working knowledge of instructional software applications
Working knowledge of technologies available for use of instructional setting
Ability to effectively scaffold instruction through developmentally appropriate tiered supports
Ability to interpret data and evaluate programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to collect, analyze, review, and submit data reports to determine instructional progress and effectiveness of program goals.
Ability to assist teachers and staff with using assessment data to inform instruction
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a successful classroom teacher at the secondary levels.
Major Responsibilities And Duties
Instructional Support and Program Management
- Develop supportive relationships with teachers that lead to positive change in instructional practices and student achievement.
- Plan and deliver high-quality professional learning and support teachers with implementation of new strategies into day-to-day teaching and learning.
- Assist teachers with understanding state standards for proficiency at all grade levels and content areas. Plan, implement, and evaluate TEKS-based instructional programs with teachers and administrators including learning objectives, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques.
- Assist individual teachers and core content teams with analyzing multiple sources of data, including student work, to reflect on student growth and determine appropriate instructional approaches.
- Understand effective instructional practices and assist teachers in implementing these practices.
- Utilize effective instructional technology to assist with teacher coaching sessions, teaching techniques, and teacher strategies in the delivery of curriculum
- Support teachers' implementation of differentiated instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Co-teach and model instructional strategies that ensure rigorous core instruction for all learners.
- Provide support to teachers and teams in using backward design to plan instructional units and classroom lessons.
- Observe classroom instruction and provide timely and specific feedback with a focus on students' learning behaviors.
- Support the continuous professional growth & improvement of teachers’ instructional skills through coaching observations and feedback conversations.
- Support and participate in meeting the objectives of the campus/department improvement plans.
- Collaborate with and assist campus administrators with the preparation for campus PLC meetings.
- Assist with and lead campus PLC meeting discussions that are data-driven with a focus on learning, collaboration, and student outcomes.
- Demonstrate effective teaching strategies with students in the classrooms.
- Abillity to develop, plan, deliver, and provide appropriate professional development for teachers and staff.
District Testing Coordinator
- Implement procedures for ensuring security and confidentiality of state-mandated testing programs and other assessments. Direct and oversee test implementation and monitor testing activities to ensure that procedures are followed and deadlines met.
- Provide timely support for testing administrators.
- Consult wit staff to provide appropriate testing accomodations for Limited English Proficient/Emergent Bilngual students and students receiving special services.
- Identify, investigate, and address testing irregularities. Report discrepancies and disciplinary actions taken against students as required.
- Develop and distribute statistical studies, analysis, and evaluation reports as required.
- Work with instructional teams to analyze test data and develop student achievement goals and objectives.
- Consult with district staff to develop, administer, and interpret assessment guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain and ensure the integrity of testing data. Ensure all materials and data are submitted within established timelines.
- Complete evaluation and compliance reports as required by federal and state programs.
- Track and monitor location of test materials throughout the distribution, return, and storage process.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of training for district and campus test administrators to ensure that tests are conducted, and procedures are consistently followed.
Other
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

2024-2025 Salary Range: Min: $63,994 – Mid: $75,285 / Per Year
