Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of SEO to lead our SEO strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and techniques to drive organic and paid traffic to our website. The Head of SEO will play a crucial role in improving our online visibility, increasing website traffic, and maximizing conversions. This position requires a creative and analytical mindset, as well as a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.
We prefer a candidate with 7-10 years of hands-on experience in SEO, with deep expertise in all aspects of SEO, including on-page, off-page, technical SEO, and content strategy. This role will be critical in driving organic traffic, improving search engine rankings, and enhancing our overall digital presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
○ Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO strategy aligned with business objectives to increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings for category pages as well as city pages.
○ Lead and mentor a team of SEO specialists, content creators to ensure seamless implementation of SEO initiatives.
○ Work closely with Product and Engineering team for SEO related changes on the website.
○ Provide strategic direction and thought leadership to guide the team in adopting the latest SEO trends and best practices.
○ Stay abreast of the latest SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices.
Implement new strategies to adapt to changes in the search landscape.
○ Up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and algorithm updates.
Team Management & Leadership:
○ Manage, motivate, and develop a high-performing SEO team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
○ Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
○ Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to build expertise and ensure continuous professional growth.
○ Encourage open communication, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help team members overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
On-Page SEO:
○ Optimize website architecture, HTML, and CSS for search engine friendliness.
○ Ensure proper keyword research and integration across all website content.
○ Analyze search volume, competition, and user intent to select optimal keywords for targeted campaigns.
○ Optimize meta tags, headers, and internal linking structures for better indexing and visibility.
○ Optimize website structure, URLs, and internal linking to improve organic rankings.
Off-Page SEO:
○ Develop and manage link-building strategies to improve domain authority and organic rankings.
○ Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers, bloggers, and relevant websites to increase the backlink profile.
○ Monitor and disavow toxic backlinks to maintain a healthy backlink profile.
○ Monitor and analyze the impact of off-page SEO efforts on search rankings.
Technical SEO:
○ Conduct regular technical SEO audits to identify and fix issues related to crawlability, indexability, and mobile responsiveness.
○ Work closely with the engineering and product team to ensure site speed, security, and performance align with SEO best practices.
○ Implement structured data (Schema markup) and XML sitemaps for enhanced search engine understanding and website visibility in search results.
Content SEO:
○ Collaborate with the content team to create SEO-friendly content that drives organic traffic and engagement.
○ Collaborate with content creators to develop SEO-friendly content that aligns with target keywords and user intent. Ensure content is optimized for readability, relevance, and search engines.
○ Ensure all content is optimized for target keywords, user intent, and search engine algorithms.
○ Oversee the development of content calendars, including blog posts, landing pages, and other digital assets.
Data Analytics & Reporting:
○ Utilize SEO tools and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs) to track, report, and analyze website performance.
○ Monitor and analyze website performance using tools like Google Analytics and Search Console. Generate regular reports on key SEO/SEM metrics, such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, and conversion rates.
○ Provide regular insights and recommendations to senior management based on data-driven analysis.
○ Continuously monitor industry trends, algorithm updates, and competitor activity to keep the SEO strategy up to date.
Collaboration & Communication:
○ Work closely with cross-functional teams to align SEO strategies with broader business goals.
○ Communicate SEO strategies, progress, and results to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
