Scrum Master/Project Manager

Accounting Seed is a rapidly growing accounting software company that sells a leading-edge application on the Salesforce.com platform. We are the fusion of two disciplines: Information Technology and Accounting.

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead software development projects and oversee internal IT initiatives. This role will work closely with development teams to facilitate Agile practices while also managing IT projects to improve internal systems and operations. The ideal candidate will have strong Scrum Master expertise, experience managing IT projects, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do:

Software Development - Scrum Master Responsibilities:

  • Assist development squads with sprint planning, ensuring clear objectives and achievable goals.
  • Help triage any issues early. Escalate risks and blockers, working with stakeholders to resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure all issues are triaged and prioritized appropriately within the sprint backlog.
  • Conduct Sprint meetings including Retrospectives to evaluate progress and to identify improvement areas.
  • Maintain and communicate sprint metrics, including velocity, burndown charts, and other KPIs.
  • Keep SCRUM documentation up to date in Confluence.

Internal IT Project Management Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple internal projects simultaneously across various teams.
  • Assist teams in planning, executing, and monitoring project progress to ensure timely delivery.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders to align on objectives and outcomes.
  • Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities for process improvement within projects.

Product Release Coordination Responsibilities:

  • Escalate risks as early as possible with the team.
  • Create and maintain release projects and tasks for all releases in Salesforce, ensuring proper assignment and due dates. Coordinate with assignees to ensure timely task completion. Ensure any dependencies are noted. Coordinate production pushes and related tasks, communicating closely with Support and Marketing.
  • Run release meetings like Feature Reviews, Release Coordination, Go/No go meetings, etc. sharing important updates and bringing feedback or questions back to Product, as necessary.
  • Keep release related documentation up to date in Confluence.

Jira Administration Responsibilities:

  • Keep squad dashboards updated.
  • Maintain and refine Jira workflows, automations, and custom fields to enhance team efficiency. Implement new fields, screens, and project configurations, as necessary.
  • Support users in resolving Jira-related issues and provide training when needed.

  • Collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills to guide teams toward Agile excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Management and/or Scrum Master.
  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, etc.).
  • PMP and Scrum Master certifications a plus.
