As a scrum master / project manager, you are responsible for running a highly efficient engineering team, facilitating execution and championing communication. You coordinate across departments to make sure that product goals encompass business imperatives. You balance business requirements with engineering needs in order to build stable infrastructure we can sell with confidence. Responsibilities Your main areas of responsibility that will have the greatest impact are keeping the team organized, focused and facilitating communication between teams. Daily Responsibilities ensure all JIRA tickets have acceptance criteria (or: problem/solution format), story point estimates make sure every developer writes into the standup slack channel run the daily engineering check-in calls make sure developers are responding to support requests in the support channels check-ins on daily (async) standups Periodic Responsibilities follow up about the ROI of previous features and product work as compared to the estimates run all sprint planning meetings keep up with developers on personal goals ensure scheduling for all sprint planning meetings attend Level 10 Product/Engineering and gather ratings for the meeting ensure remote developers are attending the 9:45 tuesday meeting ensure developers are keeping up with company-assigned tasks (like annual reviews, reading top-picks emails) Sprint Responsibilities collect feedback during sprint retrospectives and take action on them participate in post mortems on downtime or degraded service events effectively manage the work of the team from planned sprint and prioritized backlog ensure all reported bugs are documented (ticketed) work with product owner to maintain the backlog assist team with identifying, communicating and resolving blockers (prior to and mid-sprint) communicate any deviations from planned work protect the team from (business or self-inflicted) distractions and stay focused protect team from over-committing during planning and find a balance to avoid complacency facilitate ticket flow, ensuring applicable tasks are properly reviewed and tested according to process Requirements you are solutions oriented: "it's about the who not the what" you are open minded and willing to think outside the box you radiate knowledge about Benzinga's products and services producing high quality products is fundamental to your being you care about our customers and you care about your colleagues you believe that attention to detail now will save time later you work smarter not harder wherever possible, leveraging all available tooling to automate whatever can be automated
