Summary

We are looking to fill multiple School-Based Behavior Interventionist / Paraprofessional positions at our Special Education Nonpublic School, Building Connections Academy, in Martinez, CA. Applicants must have in-person availability 8:30 am -3 pm and must be a Registered Behavior Technician, or be willing to get certified within 90 day's of hire.

Building Connections Behavioral Health is looking for motivated, energetic individuals who have a passion for helping others and working within a team. At BCBH, our foundation is built from the bottom up. Every team member is an integral part of the treatment team focused on one goal, to provide the best possible service to our clients and their families. We work with children who may be on the Autism spectrum, who may have behavioral difficulties or neurological differences, and we help them gain skills to be their most independent and fulfilled selves. This is done through providing 1:1 support, providing parent education, and providing a safe and supportive environment for our clients.

The Paraprofessional is an individual who works with students requiring instructional, and/or behavioral assistance under the supervision of the special education department and/or supervising designee.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates teacher directed learning activities including lesson plans, worksheets, reinforcement systems, small groups, social games, and work assistance.
  • Follows through with student's individualized IEP goals including, and managing behavioral deficits and excesses, one on one or as a general classroom support.
  • A classroom support consists of working with multiple students at once.
  • Facilitates teacher directed learning activities including behavioral goals, using reinforcement systems, social skills groups, and transitional services.
  • Assists teacher with classroom duties including making stimuli, making copies, maintaining a clean and organized classroom, preparing materials, and data collection on goals.

Job Summary

  • $22-$26 an hour (Depending on experience, certifications, and education)
  • Full-Time 30+ hour positions available.
  • Multiple start dates are available to begin your training when you are ready.
  • Flexible schedules, morning, evening, and Weekend hours available.
  • Paid drive time and mileage.

We serve the greater San Francisco Bay Area by providing:

  • In-Home ABA Services (ages 3-21).
  • Early Intervention (ages 0-3).
  • 1:1 School Aides (multiple ages).

Experience

  • Preferred: Registered Behavioral Therapist (RBT).
  • Preferred: Experience working with children 0-16.

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor or Master in a related field.

Requirements

  • Reliable private transportation that is insured (car, motorcycle).
  • Provide a doctor's release to work as well as proof of receiving the following vaccinations: Covid-19 (two-dose, with a booster when applicable), MMR, Hep. B, Varicella, and TDAP.
  • Provide a negative TB test within the last 2 years.
