About the Company - Our Newcastle-based, not-for-profit client is seeking a Rostering/Scheduling Team Leader who thrives on organisation, problem-solving, and keeping operations running smoothly. This is a people-first leadership role, where you'll lead a small, passionate scheduling team, ensuring support workers are in the right place, at the right time, with the right skills.



About the Role - The Opportunity



  • Lead and support a team of Scheduling Specialists (5 direct reports)
  • Oversee the effective deployment of staff through well-planned scheduling and rostering
  • Balance participant needs with workforce qualifications, certifications, industrial awards, WHS requirements, and budgets
  • Collaborate with leadership to evaluate and improve workforce systems and processes
  • Monitor and address workplace health and safety risks
  • Align contracted hours with both legal obligations and financial goals
  • Interpret and apply modern awards, state legislation, and employment frameworks
  • Uphold privacy standards and ensure responsible handling of personal information


Qualifications - Qualifications & Experience



  • Cert IV in Leadership & Management or relevant team leadership experience
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
  • Expertise in scheduling and rostering systems
  • Excellent problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply industrial awards and legislation
  • Experience managing investigations and operational reporting


Required Skills - Before You Start (or Willing to Obtain)



  • NDIS Worker Check
  • Working With Children Check
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Current Driver’s Licence


Preferred Skills - Bonus Points For



  • Knowledge of the SCHADS Award
  • Experience in disability, aged care, or community services
  • Familiarity with the NDIS and aged care systems
