Overview

Responsible for scheduling appointments for diagnostic tests, treatment therapies, and outpatient procedures and completes the pre-registration process.

What You Will Do

  • Schedules appointments and coordinates multiple resources for diagnostic tests, treatment therapies, and complex outpatient procedures maintaining patient safety through correct patient identification practices.
  • Responsible for preregistering patient encounters by obtaining patient demographics, ordering providers, financial, guarantor and insurance coverage (required to identify non-par payers).
  • Transcribes Community provider orders after reviewing for accuracy and documents in the referral authorization information if provided. Reaches out to offices for all necessary information. Informs office/patient when responsible for obtaining authorization and documents in the referral.
  • Communicates, educates, and instructs patients/offices on detailed procedural preparations, providing complete pre and post instructions on specific aspects of their procedure.
  • Schedules biopsy and Low Dose lung screening after referral has been triaged. Contacts patients when they have scheduled via MyChart, and reviews accuracy of the study being scheduled. Contacts patients who have canceled via MyChart to encourage rescheduling. Reviews Non-Invasive Vascular studies for medical necessity. Provides Concierge service for outside providers enrolled in the program and utilizes Riverside Care Difference principles for all interactions.
  • Ensures required authorization is in place for Veterans Administration/Veteran Evaluation Service patients prior to scheduling and collects Workers Compensation information as appropriate.
  • Maintains overall knowledge of the scheduling system to answer patient/office inquires. Responds to correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations both written and oral in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for meeting key performance metrics such as; adherence to established workflows, quality assurance, and productivity targets.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED, (Required)

Experience

  • 1 year Customer Service experience (Required)
  • 1 year Revenue Cycle experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) - National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) (Preferred)
