Who You Are:
Within the Operation Department, the Satellite Control Operation Engineer provides engineering support for Satellite Control Centre. Its objective is to perform all geosynchronous satellite operational activities necessary to ensure the maximum safety of the satellites and continuity of operational services provided to the customers of EUTELSAT. This is accomplished by working within procedures and rules generated both internally, and by satellite manufacturer.
Ensure the activities are carried out in compliance with Service Operations security policy.
What You’ll Do:
In particular, the engineer will be responsible for the following missions:
- Prepare, maintain, and validate all flight procedures for in-orbit control of the satellites, similarly for the satellite database, to a standard consistent with the highest safety of the satellites and maximum continuity of services provided to the customers.
- Prepare, maintain, and support the execution of the satellite operations plans.
- Prepare, plan and execution support for complex customer configuration requests provided by EUTELSAT customer support and fleet resource management teams.
- Review of daily operational logs. Anticipate, and take actions to avoid, operational problems. This includes personal training to maintain a high standard of skills, knowledge of operational tools and awareness of EUTELSAT satellite operations quality and security policies.
- Support and liaise with satellite and ground facilities engineering support teams for the definition and development of operational software, products and procedures during the pre-launch phase of a satellite program.
- Specify, test and validation of ground segment requirements or corrections for the continuous improvement of in-orbit operational activities in accordance with the EUTELSAT operations philosophy.
- As part of a team rota, provide 24/7 On-Call 2nd- level operations support for the in-orbit fleet satellites controlled from the Eutelsat Satellite Control Centre, perform or support SCC team in the immediate execution of all necessary actions required to ensure the security and safety of the satellites and continuity of services. Raise anomaly reports and participate in the Anomaly Review Board process.
- Provide operational support to hosted payload operations and external Satellite control entities as required and liaise with other divisions within EUTELSAT for dissemination of information.
-Various other activities, including operational support for in-orbit testing, liaison with other divisions within EUTELSAT and external providers for dissemination of information and discussion of operational activities.
