Summary

SATCOM Electronics Technician II

Purpose:

  • Valkyrie Enterprises is currently looking for a SATCOM Electronics Technician in Plano Texas to support our operations.


Role and Responsibilities:

  • Serves on Theater Deployable Communications (TDC) service desk and onsite repairs technician
  • Performs primary COMSEC custodian, and ICAP representative
  • Provide support for TDC-related tickets generated and escalated by end users
  • Understands crypto components handling procedures
  • Diagnoses and resolve TDC hardware, software and operational issues. Manage trouble tickets to OEM help desk or engineering support
  • Oversee and track escalated trouble tickets until resolution
  • Acts as the end user’s advocate with OEMs
  • Provides status reports to depot manager as required


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High School graduate
  • Working knowledge of military Satellite Communications (SATCOM) systems, to included operations and maintenance
  • Understanding of DoD standards, processes, and terminology
  • Knowledgeable of Air Force standards for Communications Security (COMSEC), security, and information assurance, DISA STIGs, NIST RMF, DCMA property management, and DoD 5200 series for counterfeit management
  • Familiar with OSHA standards for safety and hazards
  • At least 5-years of experience supporting DoD digital systems
  • Must be able to receive approval for Secret security clearance


Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Familiarity with military organizations, protocols, procedures, and processes, and working knowledge of addressing issues/concerns using the chain-of-command
  • Military Experience is preferred.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance


Security Requirements:

  • Must have an Active DoD Secret clearance and the ability to maintain a clearance.


Travel Requirements:

  • Up to 25%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

  • Remaining in a stationary position
  • Often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another
  • Communicating with others to exchange information
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds
