We are seeking a seasoned
SAP S/4 Data Migration Lead to manage and execute the end-to-end data migration process from legacy SAP systems to SAP S/4HANA. This leadership role will ensure cross-functional alignment across all major workstreams (F2S, P2P, R2R, O2C), collaborating with L’Oréal’s Global Team and leveraging the Global Data Migration Playbook. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and hands-on experience with Syniti tools and SAP S/4HANA data structures.
Key Responsibilities - Strategic Planning & Oversight
- Develop and lead the execution of a comprehensive data migration strategy aligned with the Global Data Migration Playbook.
- Provide an integrated view of cross-functional workstreams to ensure a cohesive migration approach.
- Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead and manage a team of data migration specialists, ensuring task alignment and disciplined delivery.
- Conduct weekly workplan validations to ensure accurate status reporting and resource management.
- Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with business stakeholders, IT, Application PMs, the Global Data Team, and external partners (e.g., Syniti) to define data requirements, governance, and mapping rules.
- Technical Execution
- Design and oversee the development of ETL tools and scripts for extracting, transforming, and loading data into SAP S/4HANA.
- Utilize SAP Data Services, Power BI / Looker, APIs, and other ETL tools.
- Data Quality & Governance
- Lead data profiling, cleansing, validation, and governance efforts to ensure integrity and readiness.
- Establish rules of engagement and implement robust data governance processes.
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Define KPIs for migration progress and provide regular reports, including issue tracking, resolutions, and escalations.
- Testing & Hypercare
- Coordinate migration testing and validation with business owners and the Global Team.
- Support defect management and root cause resolution during testing and hypercare phases.
- Process Improvement & Documentation
- Contribute to enhancements of the Global Data Migration Playbook and associated processes.
- Ensure all meetings (virtual/in-person) follow structured formats with agendas, documented minutes, action items, and decision logs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in SAP data migration, including leadership roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with Syniti tools, SAP BODS, MDG, and other related migration solutions.
- Deep knowledge of SAP S/4HANA data architecture and migration methodologies.
- Experience with TIBCO EBX (MDM) is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English required; French proficiency is a plus.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Clark, NJ at least 3 days per week; flexibility to travel internationally.
Preferred Certifications
- SAP Data Migration or Data Management certification.
- Syniti or SAP BODS professional certifications.
